Wisconsin voters will choose a governor in just over a week.

Democratic Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and Republican U.S. Representative Tom Tiffany spent Sunday campaigning in different parts of the state. Crowley stopped in Shawano, while Tiffany appeared in Oconomowoc. Both are running multi-day bus tours and urging supporters to the polls ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.

Tiffany visited Oconomowoc on Sunday as part of a tour that includes 55 stops. He spoke with people inside Shotzy's on Main Street. Addressing undecided voters, he pointed people to last week's televised debate between him and Crowley. "Tell them to take an hour out of their day, watch the debate and decide who they're going to vote for," Tiffany said. He also campaigned on backing police, directing money to schools, and making state government more accountable and affordable. "I'm for returning all of the surplus to the people. I'm for cutting property taxes, and we're going to audit all of state government to root out the fraud and waste," Tiffany said.

Crowley appeared in Shawano on Sunday as part of a 10-day tour. He met with supporters and spoke about the need for a governor who can work across party lines. "Folks are looking for something different," Crowley said. "They want to know who actually has the executive leadership, who is poised to become the next governor, to build the necessary relationships across the political spectrum, to make sure that everybody can get ahead." Crowley said he would focus on lowering costs for families facing high prices for gas, groceries and utilities. "I'm going to work for you. I'm going to work to lower your costs, I'm going to make sure that we can expand healthcare, improve our schools, and most importantly I'm going to bring people together to do it and I've done that," Crowley said.

A Marquette Law School poll released Sept. 30 showed Crowley at 46% among registered voters, with Tiffany at 45% and 9% undecided. Among likely voters, the poll put Crowley at 49%, Tiffany at 46%, and 5% undecided.

A new Marquette Law School poll is scheduled for Wednesday, one week after the candidates last debated. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Early voting is also underway across Milwaukee County.
